What is bioplastic?
The material is made in Italy. It is 100% biodegradable and vegan. It consists of high-quality, unbreakable bio-plastic. It contains no BPA, no phthalates (plasticizers) or pollutants like PVC. The products are food-safe because the material consists only of natural raw materials and the products are continuously tested in the laboratory for harmful residues. The products are therefore 100% safe for children.
Bioplastic is made from renewable raw materials such as corn, beetroot and millet (a type of grass). It looks confusingly similar to petroleum-based plastic, but has a different chemical composition.
The sugar and starch contained in the plants are converted into bioplastic in many intermediate steps. The bioplastic granulate is non-toxic and compostable. Further processing is comparable to traditional plastic production, but the end product is biodegradable.
The innovative and new material allows the production of products that can be washed again and again and used for a long time.
At the end of his life, an eKoala product made of bioplastic can be composted at home in the garden. It decomposes back to its original raw materials, but without polluting the environment with toxins.
